Beer is one of the oldest beverages in the world. There are
records of the Sumerians, the earliest known civilization,
brewing and drinking beer. The art of homebrewing and its
recipes were perfected during the centuries, as households
were brewing their own beer, using homebrew supplies from
their gardens or farms.

With the move to city life and the beginning of mass
production, home brewing was no longer as common. Only
during the last several decades, home brewing has become a
hobby of thousands, and quite a few have proceeded to
establish businesses based on their microbreweries, selling
their brew to pubs and restaurants in their vicinity.
